Binance Account Registration and Verification Explained (Vietnam, 2026)

Updated 4 Oct 20264 min read

Binance registration takes about 10 minutes: an email or phone number, a 6-digit code and a password. Identity verification follows, with a chip ID card (CCCD) or passport and a face check. Before any of that, people living in Vietnam should know the legal position. Since 1 September 2026, trading crypto-assets in Vietnam other than through a provider licensed by the Ministry of Finance can be fined 30–50 million dong (Decree 284/2026/ND-CP), and Binance is not licensed in Vietnam. Read Vietnam crypto regulation 2026 first.

This guide explains how the account process works and how to keep an existing account safe. It is not an invitation to open one, and coinglee shows no sign-up links or referral codes for Vietnam.

How registration works

  1. Sign-up page. Binance’s sign-up form asks for an email or phone number. Only use the official site or app store listing; fake Binance pages are a common way to steal passwords and ID photos.
  2. Verification code. A 6-digit code arrives by email or SMS and is valid for 30 minutes.
  3. Password. At least 8 characters with one uppercase letter and one number.
  4. Referral code and account type. Both are fixed at registration. A referral code can’t be added or changed afterwards, and a personal account can’t be turned into an entity account.

The phone field says without country code. With +84 selected, a Vietnamese number is typed without its leading 0 (9X XXX XXXX). Entering +84 or 0 again is the most common reason a code doesn’t arrive.

How identity verification works

Unverified Binance accounts are Withdraw Only: they can withdraw and cancel orders but not deposit, trade or use P2P. Verification starts at Account → Identification:

  • Residence and document issuing country, which must match where you actually live and who issued the document.
  • Document type: ID card, passport or driving licence, depending on the country.
  • Photos of both sides of the original document.
  • A liveness (face) check.
  • Confirming your personal information, which can’t be edited afterwards.

Binance says most applications are reviewed within 48 hours.

Names on a Vietnamese CCCD

A CCCD prints your name in capitals with diacritics, for example NGUYỄN THỊ MINH ANH. Exchange forms and bank transfer details usually use the same name without diacritics: NGUYEN THI MINH ANH. Keep the word order and spacing exactly as on the card. A mismatch between the verified name and your bank account name is the most common reason P2P payments are refused.

Why verification gets rejected

Cause What it means
Blurry, glare, corners cut off The document must be fully legible
Expired document An expired CCCD or passport isn’t accepted
Residence doesn’t match the document or address Selecting a different country to get through the form leads to rejection or a frozen account
Identity already used One person, one account; recover the old one through support
Someone else’s document Using a relative’s ID or buying a “verified account” gets accounts frozen

Security every account needs

Whether the account is new or old, these settings matter more than anything else. All are under Account → Security:

  • Authenticator app or passkey. Codes by SMS alone are weaker. Keep the authenticator’s backup key offline and never send it to anyone.
  • Anti-phishing code. It appears in genuine Binance emails; an email without it is fake.
  • Withdrawal whitelist, so crypto can only go to addresses you’ve saved.
  • Device management. Remove devices you don’t recognise.

Binance P2P additionally requires SMS verification and at least one 2FA method.

If you already have an account

  • Don’t sell or lend it, and don’t let anyone else log in “to help”. The verified person is responsible for everything done on the account.
  • If your phone number changes, update it while you still control the old one.
  • If you receive a code you didn’t request, change your password and check active devices.
  • Read bank account frozen after P2P and how to trade P2P safely to understand the banking risks of P2P in Vietnam.

What licensing would change

Under the Resolution 05/2025 pilot, only licensed providers may run crypto trading platforms in Vietnam. International exchanges such as Binance can’t be licensed in their current form. Once licensed providers operate, trading through them is the lawful route; until then, using an unlicensed exchange carries the fines above. coinglee will update this guide when that changes.
